The move, which applies to its standard Magnum washing up liquid, as well as its Antibacterial and 1 litre Magnum Classic variants – excluding the caps and labels – is rolling out into stores nationwide.
This change is expected to save over 500 tonnes of virgin plastic annually, while the supermarket has also reduced the weight of the bottles, which will save a further 106 tonnes of plastic per year.
It forms part of the supermarket’s target to include 50% recycled content into its plastic packaging by 2025 and follows a switch to 100% rPET on all own-brand soft drinks and bottled waters in England and Wales last month.
