Velox delivers world’s only mass production direct-to-shape digital decoration technology for the rigid packaging industry

New York, United States

Today, Velox Ltd., global developer of the world’s only mass production direct-to-shape (DTS) digital decorator for the rigid packaging industry, announces commercial availability of its revolutionary new solution and a new customer in production for its end users. The announcement was made in advance of Luxe Pack NY, Pier 92 in New York, where Velox is exhibiting its technology at Booth #D103, May 16 and 17.

The new digital technology is a replacement for conventional DTS printing, making possible for the first time both high volume and low volume runs with near-zero set up time, superior quality and at an affordable price.

Velox exponentially enhances creative possibilities, while offering converters and brand owners the best of both analog and digital DTS printing, including:

  • Full production-line speed of up to 250 containers per minute at high quality and 15 simultaneous colors and embellishments, including photorealistic images, tactile embossing, no seam, and tube to cap printing;
  • Complete operational agility, proving flexible production process and increasing production efficiency;
  • Dedicated direct-to-shape digital printing technology: Adaptive Deposition ArchitectureTM (ADA) and Variable Viscosity InkTM (VVI);
  • Low total cost of ownership (TCO).

“With the IDS 250 system, Velox has been able to find the Holy Grail for digital print. Digital is often a complementary technology, but the IDS 250 can be a replacement technology for analog processes. Velox’s Adaptive Deposition Architecture coupled with their proprietary inks achieves the productivity and speed that long production runs require, with the full on-demand benefits of digital without compromising on color or image quality,” Amy Machado, Research Manager Imaging, Printing, and Document Solutions, IDC.

Customer LAGEENTUBES, a leading supplier of plastic and aluminum tubes packaging to the worldwide cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries, is fully installed with the Velox IDS 250 and producing products for its customers that are soon to be on store shelves.

“Our partnership with Velox started after we conducted thorough market research to find the best digital decoration technology available,” said David Daloya, LAGEENTUBES’ General Manager. “Based on Velox’s digital decoration technology, we now offer our customers a completely new level of capability, both in terms of agility and responsiveness, as well as superior product appearance.”

Marian Cofler, Velox CEO, a printing industry leader who holds several digital printing patents, added, “Velox disrupts the conventional perception that mass production digital DTS is a technology of the future. Finally, batches of any size, with a cost per copy that is competitive with analog long runs, is possible. This is an enormous breakthrough that can profoundly shake the industry – printing digitally direct-to-shape of any volume is now revolutionizing how products are branded, produced, and marketed.”
