Vango announces eco-friendly camping collaboration with the National Trust

Port Glasgow, United Kingdom

Vango and the National Trust, Europe’s largest conservation charity, are launching a recycled plastic camping collection, including eco-friendly tents and sleeping bags.

Made with Vango’s exclusive Sentinel Eco Fabric, incorporating PET plastic bottles, the collection ranges from using 69 plastic bottles in its creation for the Devon 3-person tent to 302 for the 6 sleeper Brecon 600XL. In the first year of release, it is projected that the National Trust camping collection will re-purpose almost 295,000 PET plastic bottles.

The sleeping bags in the National Trust collection feature a 100% recycled filling made from used plastic bottles that are reprocessed and turned into a polyester fill.

The unique oak leaf pattern is inspired by a carving on the first building built by the National Trust - Alfriston Clergy in East Sussex - in 1896.

Through sales, Vango will contribute a minimum of £10,000 to help fund conservation projects in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.  Launched 18 February at the Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show at the NEC, Birmingham. The collection includes four tents; Devon 300, Cumbria 500, Antrim Air 600XL and Brecon 600 and two eco-fill sleeping bags, the Gwent and Surrey.
