The EVO model increases the productivity to 2,000 bottles per hour per cavity (24,000 per hour) compared with the 1,800 of the previous model and increases the flexibility due to the change in the blowing pitch which now enables the production of necks up to 43 mm (with respect to the 38 mm of the SFR 12).In order to handle the increased productivity and guarantee excellent blowing performance, SIPA has changed the size of the oven so as to keep unaltered the time the preforms remain inside. The ventilation has also been optimised to improve the management of the cold part (the neck) and the hot part (the body) of the preform. The kinematics of the SFR 12 EVO has also been redefined in order to optimise the speed for transfer of bottles and preforms to and from the wheel. The press closing and opening system has also been redesigned in order to operate at the productivity of 2000 b/h/c, guaranteeing a high quality level, and the transport system, using plastic polymer belts, has been upgraded to support the higher productivity.A reduction in energy consumption is guaranteed by the exclusive design of the SIPA ovens which enable to heat the preforms at lower working temperature compared with similar machines on the market, thereby minimising the energy consumption.SIPA has also redesigned the architecture of the machinery, defining a position of the oven configurable for hot-fill in order to minimise the heat inversion times, and thereby guarantee a better management of the energy consumption with respect to the productivity. The air supply system has also been redesigned in this model in order to reduce the blowing times and dead volumes: a double air recovery is achieved with this new design by means of an auxiliary tank that enables significant energy consumption savings. With regard to the applications, SFR 12 EVO is suitable for standard and personalised containers, light-weight designs, hot-fill and pasteurising, and ultra-clean, barrier bottles to light, gas and humidity and active packaging solutions. The fields of application are as follows: mineral water, soft drinks, fruit drinks, isotonic drinks, tea, coffee, milk and milk derivatives, edible oil, beer and liqueurs. SFR EVO also enables the production of PET, PLA, OPP and multilayer containers.During the last K show, where the machine was presented for the first time, SFR 12 EVO produced an innovative 0.5 l bottle which is extremely light-weighted (10.9 g) that can be easily industrialised and integrated to existing bottling lines, thanks to the possibility of keeping unchanged the caps and labels already used by the bottler.
