All-electric injection moulding machines, direct extrusion and processing PUR composites were the three topics in the spotlight at the parallel customer events held by KraussMaffei’s three technology divisions. Over 1000 customers gathered at the company’s main plant in Munich to watch the machine demonstrations, listen to the presentations and gain firsthand information on the latest innovations from the market leader in plastics and rubber machinery. KraussMaffei is the only machinery supplier worldwide with intensive expertise in and hardware for the three key machine technologies for plastics processing. The company made one point very emphatically at the Spotlight events, namely that, especially when economic prospects are gloomy, KraussMaffei is the partner of choice when it comes to defining the right technologies to secure productivity advantages and save costs.Opportunities for cost savingsKraussMaffei regularly organizes “Spotlight” events which concentrate on providing detailed information on a topic or topics of special interest to customers in the plastics and rubber processing industries. On May 7, 2009, KraussMaffei’s three technology divisions all invited customers to parallel Spotlight events in the company’s main plant in Munich-Allach. “I’m delighted that today, we once again had the opportunity to demonstrate our combined know-how in these three decisive technologies,” emphasized Dr. Dietmar Straub, CEO of KraussMaffei AG. While the Injection Moulding Machinery division demonstrated its whole spectrum of energy-saving, all-electric machines in its AX and EX series, the Extrusion Technology division showcased a direct extrusion line for producing three-layer PP pipe with a highly-filled core layer, again proving that integrating compounding and extrusion in one process can save raw material costs.
