The company's focus will be on reducing and offsetting carbon dioxide emissions in four key areas: production, packaging, logistics, and natural capital.
S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna have been working for years to reduce energy consumption in production plants and claim to have reduced CO2 emissions by around 60% over the last nine years. The company announces to open a new green Factory Of the Future, built using locally sourced materials and featuring energy-efficient lighting and a rainwater recycling system to make it a "zero water impact" facility.
All bottles and cans are made of 100% recyclable materials, and Sanpellegrino will further increase the use of recycled plastic in their bottles and multipacks wrapping.
Also, logistics are in focus to reach carbon neutrality.
