Sacmi-made solutions for the beverage industry

3:20 min Two step blow moulding systems
Imola (BO), Italy

A not-to-be-missed appointment for European players in the beverage industry. And an exceptional showcase for the major technology producers. This is Brau Beviale, to be held at Nuremburg from 9th to 11th November 2011.With regard to the beverage field Sacmi has, for some time now, employed a joint, integrated industrial policy that combines the best of Sacmi Imola, Sacmi Filling, Sacmi Labelling and Sacmi Packaging in a single Beverage Division, providing customers with turnkey solutions that range from the raw material to the final consumer. At Brau Beviale, visitors to Sacmi’s 144 m2 stand (hall 5, stand 5-343) will be able to discover more about the performance and advantages of Sacmi beverage technology, from new plant engineering solutions that make the most of compression technology to cutting edge stretch blow moulders with smoothly efficient, economic operation and output rates of up to 80,000 bottles per hour. Each solution has been carefully designed to ensure easy integration with other Sacmi machines, from the vision systems that can be installed downstream from the bottling line to the PAM machines for the compression production of pre-forms, installable upstream from the SBF blow moulders.Just one of many new features from SACMI is the production of ‘3D’ crown caps. Thanks to the new CCD 300, specifically designed to emboss the cap (bas-relief deformation of the central section), the cap is given an enhanced look that highlights the manufacturer’s logo while significantly reducing the risk of fakes. The CCD 300 also excels in performance, being able to process a good 3,000 pieces per minute; it can also synchronise embossing deformation with the lithographic design already on the cap exterior. In other words, a true 3D cap from a machine that, in addition to high output rates, also stands out on account of its minimal impact on existing production line layouts and its extremely contained investment outlay. Further benefits stem from synergies with other Made-in-Sacmi technological solutions, such as the CVS vision system (with which the CCD 300 is equipped, allowing recognition of the lithographic print), the automated cap orientation system and the mechanism that allows recognition and ejection of faulty caps. Simplicity, practicality, low cost: these are the strong points of the crown cap, an essential accessory in the drinks world since 1891 and one that, even today, remains inimitable in many ways. A field in which Sacmi has been a key player for years, producing ever-faster, higher-performing machines for the production and application of crown caps. While the main purpose of the cap is to safeguard the product, its role as a brand enhancer on the beverage market is no less important. And it is on this latter aspect that this latest Sacmi crown cap innovation focuses. Also on show will be the Opera Combinato labeller, which provides the best possible response to the need for labelling flexibility by combining different application technologies (i.e. cold glue and self-adhesive).
