KraussMaffei AG is pleased with the first six months of fiscal year 2010/2011 (October 1 to September 30). Both sales and incoming orders are significantly above prior-year values. At the KraussMaffei Competence Forum 2011, the company introduces numerous new products and innovations. To draw lasting benefit from market trends, the company is pooling its group-wide strengths and expanding capacity at its production plants.
Technically brilliant product portfolio for exploiting market potential
“We are pleased with our business performance so far. Demand for the high-end machines and services which we offer under the KraussMaffei, KraussMaffei Berstorff and Netstal brands has grown strongly,” says Dr. Dietmar Straub, CEO of KraussMaffei AG, at the KraussMaffei Competence Forum. Incoming orders worth € 573 million on March 31 were well above the previous year’s €395 million. Sales climbed to €426.3 million (prior year: €324.2 million). The company is confidently looking forward to the months ahead. “We are poised with our product and service portfolio to exploit upcoming market potential and to offer customers added value along the supply chain,” notes Straub. Global market trends are currently characterised by greater process and product efficiency on the producer side, resource conservation and material savings, as well as projects inspired by increasing urbanization and greater globalization.
Demand-driven plans to expand production capacity
“We are preparing for further growth. This includes utilizing cross-site synergies and pooling our strengths group-wide. Consideration is also being given to expanding our production capacity in line with demand,” adds Straub. To this end, the company is merging its operating business units in the growth markets of Brazil and China as a way of better serving the market. Aside from renewing and modernizing its pool of machinery in Munich and expanding its production footprint for robots in Schwaig (Germany), the company is mulling a doubling of production capacity at its plants in Martin (Slovakia) and Haiyan (China).
