PolyOne introduces new innovations, sustainable solutions to world’s fastest growing plastics market

PolyOne Corporation (NYSE: POL), a premier global provider of specialized polymer materials, services and solutions, will launch a host of new advanced technology platforms and biopolymer solutions that meet the unique needs of the Asian market during Chinaplas 2010. “Asia is a major strategic focus for PolyOne, and our display at Chinaplas demonstrates our commitment to serving this region with sustainable and innovative solutions that enable customers to differentiate their products and enhance their global competitiveness,” said Dr. Willie Chien, president of PolyOne Asia. “In addition to displaying a broad range of newly developed solutions, we will also showcase our ability to collaborate with customers to overcome their market-specific challenges.” PolyOne’s commitment to delivering customer value includes its investment in a significant network of manufacturing facilities and dedicated technical teams providing support throughout the Asia Pacific region. In China, the Company operates facilities and offices in Dongguan, Shenzhen, Suzhou, Tianjin and Shanghai that supply specialty compounds, colorants, additives, and engineered materials. Additional facilities in the region are located in Mumbai (India), Singapore, and Bangkok (Thailand). China is the world’s fastest growing automotive market and electrical/electronics sector. A large push for new infrastructure has boosted demand for construction materials, such as wire & cable. The durable goods markets are also expanding throughout Asia for consumer products such as motorcycles, telephones, refrigerators, and computers, all of which require polymer solutions PolyOne can provide. Chinaplas 2010 runs from April 19-22 at Pudong New International Expo Centre in Shanghai. Chinaplas is Asia's No. 1 and the world's No. 3 plastics trade fair. It is expected to attract 75,000 visitors from more than 130 countries and regions.
