Cleveland, USA

PolyOne Corporation (NYSE: POL) today announced the expansion of its liquid color concentrate production capabilities at the Company’s Massillon, Ohio plant. This expansion, which includes the installation of high speed media mills and upgraded high intensity mixers, is expected to increase the facility’s liquid colorant capacity by up to 50% while increasing product quality and consistency.“Customers are increasingly considering liquid colorants in thermoplastic processing,” said David Stonecipher, director of marketing for PolyOne’s color and additives business unit. “Depending on the application, the use of liquid concentrates can decrease downtime, improve color distribution and part quality, reduce warehouse space and logistics costs, and lower overall colorant use rates.”The expansion will bolster the Company’s ability to offer customers an unbiased choice between solid pellets or liquid color solutions, which are available across a range of specially designed carriers including the patent-pending PicoTint™ product line for engineered resins such as PC, SAN, PMMA, PETG, and clear ABS, as well as the Company’s line of ComPETe™ L colorants for PET resins.“We are very excited at the prospect of bringing the benefits of liquid color technology to more customers,” said John Van Hulle, general manager for PolyOne’s color and additives business unit in North America. “This investment is another example of PolyOne’s commitment to delivering value-added solutions that help our customers grow and prosper.”PolyOne’s liquid colorants, which offer superior shelf life and maximum coloring power, are manufactured and distributed globally.
