New TrueBlendTM TB gravimetric batch dosing systems now available as a series

3:44 min PET injection moulding systems
Bensheim, Germany

MANN+HUMMEL ProTec is now offering the TrueBlend™ TB gravimetric batch dosing system, first showcased to the public at the FAKUMA 2009, as a complete series. This range of dosing and mixing systems for treating multi-component mixtures has a total of eight sizes for throughputs of up to approx. 5,400 kg/h.The new TrueBlend™ TB gravimetric batch dosing systems provide a powerful and especially cost-effective solution for many processing tasks in which the reliably good formula consistency of the material mixture is what counts. The picture shows the TB 100-4 size for four components and up to 180 kg/h throughput. Photo: MANN+HUMMEL ProTec   TrueBlend™ TB batch dosing and mixing systems can be used to supply both injection moulding machines and extruders operating in overfeeding mode with multi-component mixtures. They are designed for four, large systems also for up to six components and throughputs from approx. 80 kg/h (TB 45-4) to 5,440 kg/h (TB 3500-6). The mixture components are dosed one after the other into a weighing tank and the total batch is subsequently homogeneously mixed in a mixing chamber located below. The systems are mounted directly onto the material feeder of the processing machine (or a frame near the machine) and can be equipped with SOMOS® suction conveyors for automatic filling of the material tanks. The new TrueBlendTM TB batch dosing systems combine high dosing precision with an especially attractive price-performance ratio. The technological improvements implemented in the system facilitate the dosing of mixing proportions of even less than 1% in a very cost-effective way with slide gate systems, achieving precisions of up to ± 0.5% of the dosing weight of the respective component. An intuitive, easy-to-use and powerful controller with a 5.7” LCD colour touch-screen is included as standard in this high-quality design. It boasts a number of integrations, including a formula management system for up to 50 formulae, an alarm management system with up to 100 programmable alarms and alarms displayed in plain text and even automatic calibration of the dosing rate on change of material. Materials can be changed very simply and quickly thanks to the large doors on the tanks for the main components, quick releases for the auxiliary component hoppers, spacious entry to the weighing area and removable mixer components. Reports, including shift, batch, formulation and weighing reports, and other evaluations can be transferred to an external PC for long-term archival via a serial interface and network connection. The conveyors can also be directly controlled using the dosing station’s standard controller (up to seven conveyors per dosing station). An even more powerful batch dosing controller is available as an optional extra for technical control of extruder regulation where required. A high temperature model for processing materials (such as PET) at temperatures of up to even 160°C is also available. The TrueBlend™ TB batch dosing system is suitable for free flowing granules and grinding material; heavy free flowing grinding stock, such as ground film or bottle flakes, can be processed using special installations which are adjustable according to the individual situation.
