PETCORE EUROPE is the new association replacing and building on the legacy of the former Petcore (PET COntainer REcycling). It will represent and enhance the growth of the PET value chain in Europe.
The membership of the association is formed by four leading industry sector European associations i.e. CPME (the PET manufacturers), EuPC including Forum PET Europe, and EuPET (the converters), EuPR (the recyclers), plus several individual companies involved in the value chain. PETCORE EUROPE is also keen to work together with other downstream users such as packers, fillers, and retailers.
PETCORE EUROPE will, without doubt, continue to be at the forefront of working with all stakeholders to ensure the sustainable growth of post-consumer PET collection and recycling of PET to meet the needs of the value chain, and to support packaging solutions that can develop recycling even further.
PETCORE EUROPE will be the voice of the PET industry in Brussels, communicating with European institutions about the importance of the PET value chain, ensuring that PET is positioned as a sustainable packaging material, and responding to any concern or issue.
PETCORE EUROPE held its first board meeting in Brussels on 23rd April 2013 and appointed Patrick Peuch in as its new Executive Director. Patrick has wide professional experience in polymers and chemicals through business, environmental affairs, advocacy, recycling and product regulatory management in Europe and beyond.
PETCORE EUROPE Chairman Roberto Bertaggia from M&G, who was confirmed in his position, commented as follows on the appointment of Patrick Peuch. “We are delighted to have Patrick joining us as executive director for our newly formed association taking care now more than ever of the future challenges of the PET value chain in Europe. Exciting times are ahead of us in Europe and I am sure Patrick, with his experience, will guide us through this process”.
