At the NPE exhibition in Orlando, USA (1 to 5 April 2012), Netstal, the Swiss manufacturer of plastic injection moulding machines, demonstrates an economically more efficient production of caps for beverage bottles on a ELION 2800.
Higher efficiency thanks to ongoing improvements
| Netstal presents a highly efficient closure production on the ELION 2800 machine based on the new electric form closure with energy recuperation. The caps PCO 1881 are produced at a cycle of 3.5 seconds using a 72-cavity mould made by Messrs z-mould, in combination with the optical quality control system of the Intravis company. The hybrid ELION 2800 is equipped with the new aXos control which impresses by its enhanced operating panel and numerous new features. |
„Bulk products such as beverage closures are under constant pressure for lower production costs. The enhancements introduced by Netstal meet the customers' ever stronger calls for material savings, higher process efficiency and a more economical production“, explains Markus DalPian, Head of Netstal' Business Unit CAP.
With the marked reduction of the cycle time, Netstal shows how the use of the high-grade ELION machine, paired with efficient processes, leads to a more economical production with, among other benefits, a saving of several thousand dollars manufacturing costs per year. Netstal's vast know-how and experience is underpinned by the fact that, since its introduction in 2008, the cycle time for the manufacturing of the Closure PCO 1881 has been reduced from originally 5s to the presently 3.5.
