Cincinnati, Ohio

Milacron LLC today announced that Bruce Catoen has been named the company’s CTO.  The Milacron group of companies includes well known brands such as Mold-Masters, DME, CIMCOOL, Uniloy, Ferromatik, ServTek, and Milacron Injection molding and extrusion equipment. Working closely with the individual product development teams, Catoen will establish and help execute a 3 year product technology roadmap to establish Milacron as the leader in high-precision plastic processing technologies and control systems.

As the CTO, Catoen will institutionalize the process of product and service development, invest in top tier people, guide investment in new technologies, build a strong portfolio of IP protection and evaluate attractive acquisitions. A key part of Catoen’s role will also be to look at how to leverage the combined technology in each division to provide customers with complete systems solutions. In strategic markets and technologies Milacron will position itself to be a complete turnkey solution provider.

“Technology leadership and systems solutions are key elements in our strategic plan. We needed someone with a proven track record of innovation and leadership to help guide us to this goal. Bruce has more than 25 years experience in injection molding, is well respected in the industry and has an impressive track record for bringing innovative new products to market.  When Milacron purchased Mold-Masters in April 2013 we knew that we were buying the leader in hot runner technology but this move was also meant to push the entire Milacron group of companies to focus on innovation and creativity.  Our customers expect innovation and we want to ensure that the products we offer continue to push technology boundaries.  Our objective is to support our customers through advancements in  productivity, process control and quality. With Bruce’s appointment we have made a significant move towards these goals,” said Tom Goeke, CEO of Milacron.

Bruce will report to Ron Krisanda, COO of Milacron & President of Mold Masters to insure the continued success of the ongoing integration and to ensure the successful launch of all technology platforms into our manufacturing process on a global basis.
