MAXITHEN® ProTec4

Gumpoldskirchen

Plagiarisms and imitations are a problem for every branch of industry: they cause losses of revenue and damages to a company’s image - life-threatening consequences are even possible in the pharmaceutical and food industries.

Each year industry suffers losses amounting to billions of Euros due to counterfeits.

This danger has now been eliminated for products made of thermoplastics. The new additive masterbatch from the Gabriel-Chemie Group, MAXITHEN® ProTec4, represents a unique security system that can prove the origin of products exactly and cannot be copied. The special masterbatch provides the products with an unmistakable code that permits a clear proof of the origin of the products to be established using the measuring technology supplied. MAXITHEN® ProTec4 is the right solution whether it’s for protection against counterfeits, protection against unjustified compensation claims or for the control of processes or functions.

This is how it works:

The polymer from which the final article is manufactured is equipped with MAXITHEN® ProTec4. Individual codes are manufactured for each product; these codes are as unmistakable as a genetic fingerprint. It is thus impossible to exactly replicate an employed pigment in order to copy the product protection. The individual security pigments can be verified using a specially programmed detector.

The use of different codes means that even different product batches are no problem to identify. That protects you against unjustified claims for compensation of damages.

MAXITHEN® ProTec4 can be also used to monitor the production process. By directly “communicating” with the machine during processing, an overdose or underdose of additives or colour pigments can thus be ruled out.
