Thomas Marder, CEO and member of the Corvaglia Group’s board of directors, has left the companywith effect from 1 October 2012, and operational control will thus be passing back to RomeoCorvaglia, company owner and chairman of the board. Franco Bischof will take over ThomasMarder’s position on the board with immediate effect. One seat is to be added to the board ofdirectors and the search for a suitable candidate has begun.
Thomas Marder has provided the Corvaglia Group with advice and support as a member of the boardsince 2009 and additionally took over the position of Corvaglia Group CEO from the summer of 2011. He has left the company with effect from 1 October 2012 due to differences of opinion about thegroup’s future direction. “We would like to thank Thomas Marder for his valuable contribution andwish him every success in his future career,” says Romeo Corvaglia, owner of the Corvaglia Group.“Thomas Marder has made a significant contribution to the consolidation and ongoing development ofCorvaglia Closures Eschlikon AG.” With Thomas Marder’s departure, the role of CEO has passed backto Romeo Corvaglia, who, as owner and founder, has built up and led the company to success over thelast 22 years. Having progressively withdrawn from operational matters since 2011, in future he willonce again be taking a more active role in company affairs.Expanded board of directors
The current board of directors is to be expanded from two members to three. The decision to create anew board position will help invigorate the team of directors and reinforce its support of executivemanagement. The search for a suitable candidate has already been launched.
With effect from 5 October 2012, the new incumbent of the seat on the board, previously held byThomas Marder, is to be Franco Bischof, a 60-year-old economist who has already worked for theCorvaglia Group (between 2007 and 2009) and, as a turn-around consultant, has led Corvaglia ClosuresS.A. de C.V., our Mexican subsidiary, to become the successful and profitable company it is today. Franco Bischof brings more than 25 years’ experience of volume manufacturing in the packagingindustry and his expertise will primarily be devoted to the ongoing expansion of Corvaglia ClosuresEschlikon AG.
