Lifocolor Farben: expansion in France

Lifocolor sarl, the French subsidiary of Lifocolor Farben GmbH & Co. KG, a manufacturer of colour masterbatches, additive preparations and compounds is investing more than 5 million euros in a new plant in Izernore (Département de l'Ain).

Lifocolor sarl has been producing in France for 20 years with currently 25 employees.

The company produces masterbatches for standard and engineering thermoplastics. The focus is on packaging and injection moulding products of engineering polymers. The company is ISO 9001:2015 certified.

The existing plant in Bellignat has reached its capacity limit. In order to meet increasing customer requirements for high-quality masterbatches in the future, an expansion of production and development capacities is necessary. Therefore a new plant will be built at the new site in Izernore.

The new building with a surface of 5,300 m² will be established on a site of around 15,000 m², providing sufficient space for the expansion of production and development facilities. Commissioning is scheduled for the second half of 2019.

After the currently planned expansion, Lifocolor sarl will have a production capacity of up to 2,500 tons of masterbatches per annum.

Standardized raw materials and a close network with the plants in Germany, Poland and Czech Republic enable the plant to locally produce and sell masterbatch formulations identical throughout the Lifocolor Group at a high quality level. The expansion will allow for individual colour developments and productions to be handled withe even more flexibility and shorter lead times.
