Dr. Volker Nilles (49) will take over as Executive Vice President of the New Machines Division at Munich-based engineering company KraussMaffei from 1 August.
Trained as a mechanical engineer, Dr. Nilles joined KraussMaffei at the beginning of 2020 taking charge of the Injection Molding division. From
1 August this division, along with our Reaction Process Machinery division, will be integrated into a newly created entity named New Machines. Over the coming year, KraussMaffei will also manage its Extrusion Technology under the responsibility of this new division.
Volker Nilles began his career at the Technical University of Munich, where he worked first as a research assistant in the Department of Business Administration and later as Head of Innovation Management and Plant Development. In 2001 he received his doctorate degree for work on "Efficient design of product classification systems". He later held positions at ThyssenKrupp Metal Cutting (Ludwigsburg), the industrial technology group Bosch Rexroth and the construction equipment manufacturer Kleemann in Göppingen, where he was CEO for nine years.
