Petainer, the specialist plastics packaging technology business, has appointed Jörg Lauer as global sales and business development manager for large container products.
Jörg has spent more than six years with KHS, world leaders in beverage plant and machine-line manufacturing, in posts which included head of technical sales as well as product management and development for the KHS keg division (formerly KHS Till).
Petainer chief executive Nigel Pritchard said: “With the rapid emergence of new markets and new usages, Petainer continues to challenge outdated ideas and traditional materials. In order to further our ambitions for continued growth and focus attention on key product streams, we have strengthened our team with the appointment of Jörg Lauer as global business development manager.
“Jörg was the ideal choice for this position. He has unparalleled understanding of the entire engineering, manufacturing and production process, its technical intricacies and inherent possibilities.
“As a qualified mechanical engineer and business economist, Jörg believes in joined-up thinking and brings the unique combination of administrative, economic and technical skills that Petainer was looking for.”
Jörg said: ““I have the goal of delivering consumable products that serve customers better, again and again. And not just selling the right oil-lamp but also the right oil.”
Not satisfied with short-term fixes, or easy answers, Jörg is focused on pushing the boundaries of manufacturing and technical processes, encouraging businesses and developing long-term partnerships between the product and its container, the producer and its customer.
Jörg added: “Having worked closely with Petainer during my last few years at KHS, I am looking forward to the challenge of developing new growth opportunities and innovations, with strong and sustainable development.”
