Husky Injection Molding Systems today announced the launch of its new Encore™ program, designed to help customers get the most value out of their assets by maximizing the life of existing Husky systems and restoring them to like-new productivity. A part of Husky’s expanded Services portfolio, the Encore program makes it possible for customers to maximize efficiencies throughout a system’s life cycle.
“There are thousands of Husky systems in the field that could benefit from Encore. In some cases, it is more appropriate to implement new injection molding equipment and technology, while in other cases upgrading existing assets is more effective,” said Jeff MacDonald, Husky’s Vice President of Marketing. “The Encore program helps manufacturers determine the best option to keep their operations running at peak efficiency and productivity, followed by the implementation of a suitable solution.”
The Encore program consists of structured upgrade solutions designed to increase energy efficiency and maximize the useful life of installed Husky systems that are less than 20 years old. The program can include both tooling and machine upgrades and is broken down into two distinct series.
Performance Series: Offers a more complete and customizable solution that improves performance of existing systems by utilizing new technology. Customized programs provide upgrade solutions that are flexible in design – based on exact machine condition and application requirements to maximize performance.
- Allows customers to add production capacity or improve their competitive advantage through better than original equipment performance
- Achieves significantly improved systems performance, faster cycle times, better energy utilization and improved reliability
- Includes Polaris™ controls, a familiar interface for operators that enables advanced features
Maintenance Series: This is a series of related upgrades that can be done over time, targeting maintenance, reliability and energy management issues associated with older equipment. Implementing new replacement parts improves reliability and allows for cycle time improvements.
- Ideal for systems where performance improvements are not needed, and can be done in stages with relatively low investment
- Designed to reduce the risk of unplanned downtime by eliminating parts obsolescence
- Pre-engineered solutions for fast delivery and field installation
By implementing the Encore program, San Pellegrino Acqua Vera, a Nestlé Waters Group bottled water company, was able to improve the performance of their 17-year-old Husky preform system. “This installation allowed us to reduce energy consumption by almost 19% and increase production capacity on a number of products by at least 12%,” said Massimo Angelini, Plant Manager from San Pellegrino Acqua Vera. “Working with Husky made it very easy for us to meet our production needs. We were able to achieve better than expected results by upgrading our existing machine with the Encore Performance Series. Our system was modernized onsite and started up on time and is now running flawlessly. We are now looking at implementing Encore on our other systems.”
