Husky increases local support, opens new facility in Moscow

Husky Injection Molding Systems today announced the opening of a new facility in Moscow, Russia, that will strengthen local support for customers in Central and Eastern Europe. This facility will provide local PET mold and hot runner refurbishing services to the region. “Investing in this region gives us the opportunity to better react to the needs of this growing market,” said Volker Neuber, Husky’s Vice President, Service and Sales, Europe, Middle East and Africa. “Our focus is to better support customers by reducing lead times, minimizing downtime and lowering overall operating costs. Husky is dedicated to helping all of our customers achieve this, regardless of their location and language.” The Moscow facility will be operational in September 2009 and will offer mold and hot runner refurbishing consisting of the following services:  Mold and hot runner inspection Mold and hot runner disassembly and assembly Cleaning of manifolds and molding inserts Mold shoe repair “Maintaining injection molding equipment helps to sustain the maximum output of quality parts, which is important for any molding facility,” said Christian Kapsamer, Husky’s General Manager, Central and Eastern Europe. “The opening of our Moscow facility will allow us to locally service our customers in this region, helping them to implement effective preventative maintenance and refurbishment programs in order to remain competitive and profitable.” Husky maintains an extensive network of refurbishing centers, which enable customers to easily convert or refurbish PET molds, a practice that ensures best-in-class quality and performance. In addition to the two primary centers located in Canada and Luxembourg, Husky has established refurbishing centers in Mexico, Brazil, China and Japan. Existing prototyping laboratories located in Canada, Luxembourg and Shanghai assist customers in the development of new preform designs. Husky ensures each design is customized to the specific needs of each customer’s unique application in terms of product performance, part weight, tooling flexibility and cycle time.
