Husky Injection Molding Systems today announced that at PlastIndia 2009 it is demonstrating innovative solutions to help customers be more competitive. Located in Hall 18 at booth M15, Husky is exhibiting a HyPET 120, 32-cavity preform system molding a mineral water bottle application. Husky’s exhibit will show its latest innovations in hot runners, thinwall packaging and closures.
“Husky recognizes that the market in India has great potential for future growth. We are committed to offering the technology, service and support to allow our customers in this market to be more competitive and profitable,” said Gerardo Chiaia, President of Husky Asia Pacific. “Our goal is to build long-lasting relationships by addressing our customers’ unique challenges and providing leaner, faster and more responsive solutions to help their businesses grow.”
HyPET 120 preform system – improved cooling system increases uptime
Offering increased uptime and flexibility, the HyPET 120, 32-cavity preform system is the result of ongoing refinements to the existing platform and is ideal for converters who are producing smaller volumes of preforms in the range of 50-100 million per year.
Unlike most post-mold cooling systems that only affect the preform’s outer surface, Husky’s HyPET 120 features CoolPik, which cools the inner surface of the preform without using compressed air. The cooling system is mounted on the moving platen, allowing it to remain active for up to 85% of the overall cycle. As a result, the machine delivers faster cycles, increased output, reduced energy consumption, improved repeatability and rapid set-up.
Interchangeable mold components provide increased flexibility because changes to preform geometry can be anticipated, resulting in reduced conversion costs and minimized change-over time.
