Gabriel-Chemie GmbH with headquarters in the Austrian town of Gumpoldskirchen was awarded with the unique, comprehensive and certifiable standard used worldwide for food safety management systems by TÜV AUSTRIA CERT GmbH. The Austrian masterbatch producer thereby confirms that all processes meet the international requirements for food safety management systems. The launch of the globally recognised standard was successfully concluded in just 5 months with the certification audit.

ISO 22000 is the only worldwide standard for food safety. It combines the legally required HACCP concept (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) as per the food code with quality management according to ISO 9001.

Friedrich Bauer, Head of Quality Management at Gabriel-Chemie Group, is pleased with this success: “By meeting ISO 22000 standards, we are expanding the options available to our customers, especially in the food packaging sector. We have become a full-service provider in the field of medical technology as a result of the new standard and the existing EN ISO 13485:2012 standard for medical products. Our global presence meant that it was essential for us to offer a consistent standard recognised throughout the world.”

Aside from the new EN ISO 22000:2005 standard, Gabriel-Chemie GmbH is also certified according to EN ISO 9001:2008, EN ISO 14001:2004 and EN ISO 13485:2012.
