The R-PET plant has a 25,000 tonne/year capacity, said Veolia senior executive vice president Patrick Labat at the European Petrochemical Association (EPCA) annual conference.
This is the largest PET bottle to bottle recycling and reprocessing factory in Indonesia being set up by Veolia.
Veolia is a member of Alliance to End Plastic Waste (AEPW), a group of global companies that was launched in January this year to promote the circular economy.
The group has also joined a project to improve waste managed and collection in the Indonesian island of Bali, in partnership with Project STOP (Stop Ocean Plastics).
The EPCA annual meeting runs in Berlin on 6-9 October.
