Together with the ENGEL Health team, the management has developed framework conditions and guidelines for behavior that enable safe work in all departments. They are based on the recommendations and regulations of the authorities and have been adapted to the requirements in the different work areas. For example, staggering the working and break times restricted the flow of people and rearranged the seats in the office areas so that the minimum distance of 1.5 meters from other people could be safely maintained. ENGEL provides its employees with protective masks, has shortened the cleaning intervals and ensures that frequently used facilities and equipment are regularly disinfected.
The health and safety of our employees and their families, our customers and partners continue to be a top priority. Visits and machine acceptance in the factories are therefore not possible until further notice.
In mid-March, ENGEL decided to interrupt production, manufacturing and assembly in its Austrian plants after the number of new infections in the region's regional environment had risen sharply. Sales, service including the hotline and spare parts department as well as application technology were available to ENGEL customers worldwide without restriction. Many employees still work from home.
With this measure, ENGEL made an important contribution to slowing the spread of the virus in Austria. Since April 14, restrictions in Austria have gradually been eased in everyday life.
