Eastman Chemical Company will be featuring new examples of elegant and innovative cosmetic and personal care packaging designs from The Glass Polymer™ family of copolyesters at Luxe Pack 2008, October 28-31, Monaco, Hall Verriere, Booth VA43. These unique copolyesters deliver a multi-sensorial impact to all package designs while addressing growing industry needs for differentiated performance and design flexibility. The Glass Polymer™ family of copolyesters provides amazing clarity, superior chemical and enhanced impact resistance, and comes in every shade and hue, embossed, or combined with metals and natural fibers. |
Visitors to the show will be able to see a recent sustainable packaging development using an Eastman material, the new Chronos Flavonoides de Passiflora cream line launched by Natura, the Brazilian cosmetics leader. The Glass Polymer™ provides the flexibility to communicate luxury while meeting Natura’s reduce, reuse, and recycle packaging objectives. The innovative combination of a bottomless pot and refills requires less raw materials and energy.
The Glass Polymer™ taps into all those important sensors - smell, look, sound and touch - that make a high quality product, says Clay Rolston, Global Market Development Manager Cosmetic & Personal Care Packaging, Eastman Chemical Company. We are continuously working to improve our portfolio to obtain high quality, aesthetically enhanced products. We are introducing some of these enhancements for our leading facial skin care and color cosmetics markets at the end of this year.
Capable of infinite form, the material can be extruded, injection- or blow-molded into any desired shape. Its toughness can support thin or thick walls, caps, jars or bottle applications and offers designers the freedom to create anything their minds envision, without compromises.
Luxe Pack is an event where beauty and daring concepts are the norm. Our aim is to connect with brand owners, processors and designers, and focus our efforts on inspiring them in creating original and innovative designs with our product. We want them to see Eastman as a catalyst for innovation in the cosmetic market, comments Clay Rolston.
During the show, Eastman will also be introducing a new-generation copolyester which is currently providing solutions in markets outside cosmetics packaging. Eastman is working with customers to explore solutions with this new-generation product in cosmetic packaging. Initial evaluations have shown that it provides the same design flexibility as The Glass Polymer™ family of copolyesters with an improved chemical resistance.
We believe this improved performance can expand the use of copolyesters outside current cosmetic packaging applications, says Clay Rolston. We will be seeking discussions with customers at Luxe Pack about how this new generation product can bring value to their packaging needs. Sampling quantities will be available on a limited basis.
