Today, <org value="NYSE:BERY" idsrc="xmltag.org">Berry Plastics Group, Inc.</org> (NYSE:BERY), announced that it has appointed <person>Jean-Marc Galvez</person> as President of its Consumer Packaging Division. Galvez currently serves as President for <location value="LR/eur" idsrc="xmltag.org">Europe</location>, <location value="LR/mde" idsrc="xmltag.org">Middle East</location>, <location value="LC/in;LB/sas" idsrc="xmltag.org">India</location>, and <location value="LR/afr" idsrc="xmltag.org">Africa</location> for the Company’s Health, Hygiene, and Specialties Division.
Galvez assumes his new role <chron>January 1, 2017</chron>. He succeeds <person>Tom Salmon</person>, who was appointed as Berry’s President and Chief Operating Officer effective <chron>October 3, 2016</chron>.

Galvez joined AVINTIV (which Berry acquired in 2015) in <chron>July 2011</chron> as Vice President – Sales, Marketing, and Product Development for <location value="LR/eur" idsrc="xmltag.org">Europe</location>. Prior to joining the Company, he was the Global Commercial General Manager at Merquinsa from 2002-2011. He has also held various global general manager and commercial roles of increasing responsibility at <org>Monsanto</org> in <location value="LC/be;LB/weur" idsrc="xmltag.org">Belgium</location>, and <org>Dow Chemical</org> in <location value="LC/ch;LB/weur" idsrc="xmltag.org">Switzerland</location>. Galvez holds a master’s and bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Ecole Nationale Superieure de Chimie in Monpellier, <location value="LC/fr;LB/weur" idsrc="xmltag.org">France</location>.
