EN13432 ACCREDITATIONBerkshire Labels has become the first company to offer a fully biodegradable and compostable self adhesive label range that conforms to EN13432 in its own right.The exclusive BioTAK� range includes a fully biodegradable and compostable adhesive, a world first, which has recently been accredited with the Biodegradable and Compostable packaging standard EN13432.The BioTAK� range includes a white semi gloss paper, kraft natural unbleached paper, white and clear PLA and Natureflex, which is available in white, clear and metallised. BioTAK is suitable for chilled and ambient conditions; and is currently being used on Beauty and Healthcare products, Food Packaging, Drinks and Stationary.The success of BioTAK has been realised worldwide with customers in Australia, USA, Africa and Europe. The BioTAK S100 adhesive, which is the real breakthrough, has not only enabled Berkshire Labels to produce a range of self adhesive labels, but is also being used on compostable tapes, overlaminating film, a retail glue and as a laminating adhesive.Berkshire Labels or The Green Label Company as they have become known as, have been accredited to the Environmental Standard ISO14001 since August 2007, and see themselves as the market leaders in Green issues. We have been working on this project since 2001, this is not a knee jerk reaction to the Climate Change debate that has hit us in the last 18months. We recognised packaging had to change back in 2000, Certification has come just in time. Berkshire Labels are totally committed to the environment and have trialled green inks at their premises in Hungerford and offer customers collection and recycling of backing paper to reduce the amount of waste to landfill.
