UKCPN publishes new report on transition to return/refill for fast moving consumer goods

London, United Kingdom

There is growing interest in reuse/return/refill/prefill for fast moving consumer goods, predominantly in the food chain, but also for white goods and other consumer products to reduce the reliance on single-use packaging. In addition, there may also be significant gains for sustainability from a life cycle perspective on new delivery systems, thus enabling a transition to Net Zero.

In 2018, UK Circular Plastics Network in conjunction with WRAP held the first company and stakeholder event for the growing cohort of companies in the UK and we have continued to be involved with many of the companies active in this sector.

Information regarding the hands-on use and customer trends towards the uptake of refill, the demographics and geographies that are the early adopters, and how it may be scaled up and more widely adopted is limited.
