Hubbub launches interactive recycling campaign in Bristol

Bristol, United Kingdom

As stated on Hubbub's website the company has teamed up with Bristol Council and Bristol Waste to encourage more binning and less littering. Working in collaboration with partners and residents to introduce proven behaviour change interventions to strategic locations across Bristol City Centre. The approach is based on insights from years of litter campaigns.

According to Hubbub's website in Bristol alone, picking up litter costs around £6 million and around 3,700 tonnes are collected every year.

As stated by the company a four-metre-high wave, made with 90kg of rubbish, is floating on Bristol Harbour outside the Arnolfini from November 2022 to January 2023. Furthermore Hubbub installed bins that glow in the dark and feature special effects, such as display of sound, when opened. Users are also engaged and able to win prizes for binning litter through a free app.

Hubbub claims that on-street recycling bins for plastic bottles, cans and glass will also be installed alongside Bristol’s existing general waste bins and coffee cup recycling bins to make it as easy as possible for people to recycle when out and about.
