The APF-Max blow molder is equipped with a special short-wave near-infrared (NIR) heating system. This method is not standard in the PET blow molding machine market, although preform heating is more efficient while consuming fewer kilowatts.
The advantages of the NIR heating system for PET bottle production:
- Uniform temperature distribution between the inner and outer parts of the preform wall
- Reduced heating time
- Compact heater size
- Reduced energy consumption of the blow molder.
PET Technologies will also exhibit the rotary blow molds it manufactures. The 4-axis and 5-axis CNC machining centers permit to obtain a mirror-smooth surface of the molds.
PET Technologies uses Mikron Mill S600U tooling systems with a spindle speed of 42 000 rpm. With this machine tool, the surface of the blow mold no longer needs to be repolished. Thanks to the investment in another machine of this type, the lead time for blow moulds has been reduced to 2 to 3 weeks and the production capacity for blow moulds has been doubled.
