Course as a cooperation between SKZ and EREMA experts
The topic of plastics recycling has also been one of the growing focal points at the SKZ for many years. The SKZ provides support as a pioneer in the field of application-oriented research, from innovations in process engineering and adapted machine concepts for the recycling of plastics to analyzes such as the service life cycles of a component and the creation of carbon footprints. In the field of further education, too, recycling is prominently represented in many further education formats of the SKZ. A new course, "Recycling of Plastics", which deals specifically and in a focused manner with this topic, has now taken place for the first time.
The training offers a broad overview of the available material flows, the requirements for the material and details of frequently used machine systems and their function. These topics are identified and discussed using concrete case studies. Sample materials are produced and discussed on the basis of practical demo tests on an EREMA recycling system of the type Intarema 906 TE available in the SKZ technical center. Other machine systems that can be used for recycling are also explained directly on the existing machine systems. At this year's first edition of the course, 17 participants were able to take away important information and tips for their own recycling issues.
Participants and very satisfied with the course
Andreas Büttner, group leader for education in the area of materials, compounding and extrusion, is particularly pleased about the high demand and the good response to the course: "Due to the consequences of the corona pandemic, we were unfortunately forced to postpone the premiere of the course by two years postpone - we just didn't want to do without the practical part in presence. We are all the more enthusiastic about the strong demand and the high number of participants in this year's course. We are convinced that we are offering an important building block for understanding the connections in recycling and a good basis for familiarizing yourself with the topic." successful premiere. “The many different and very specific questions asked by the participants clearly show the importance that recycling now has. The fact that the participants came from a wide variety of industries also made this course very exciting and varied,” says Huber, who has been supporting the further development of recycling technologies at EREMA for more than three decades. The participants' opinions on the course are also consistently positive and reflect the importance of such further training on the subject of recycling. Also in the coming year the course will take place in the next edition on 09./10.
