This presentation will discuss the current demand and trends for PET and focus in on beverage opportunities. Soft drinks is the core end-use, accounting for 87% of global retail PET bottle volumes, and is expected to increase by 4% in 2018.

Indian PET has moved forward through healthcare to personal care, confectionary, low-value alcoholic beverages & non-alcoholic beverages. The emerging PET applications in India include Flavored/UHT/Pro-biotic milk, Beer, Wine, Paint, bulk edible oil packs, fruit drink variants, etc. In addition, there are emerging markets for Blood Collection Tubes (BCT) and Injection moulded items.

There is a growing emphasis on ‘Sustainability’ and brand-owners are now moving towards more sustained products. There are lots of efforts initiated by them along with converters and Plastic Associations incl RVM machines to further improve recycling in India.
