The warehouses in Melbourne and Brisbane, provide extra capacity to ensure that the business can meet the rapidly growing demand for its KeyKeg and UniKeg products in Australia. As well as helping to provide an excellent service and quicker delivery times for customers by having more kegs in the market, it also reduces carbon footprint and transport costs. This announcement follows investment in warehouses in markets such as the UK and Spain.
Lightweight Containers has also expanded its Australian sales team with two new hires - Tim Bakker based in Adelaide and Raymond Kent based in Melbourne – who will focus on helping beer customers take advantage of the smaller vessel tax changes which take effect on 1 July 2019 and are predicted to drive growth of beverage consumption in retail outlets, in addition to supporting the innovative Australian beverage industry.
Tim and Raymond will work alongside Riccardo Nardi, who has been overseeing the growth of the Australasian business since 2016. Riccardo will now also focus on Lightweight Containers' Asia Pacific growth and helping the Australian customer base grow their export business to Asia.
Commenting on the commitment to the Australian market, Anita Veenendaal, Chief Executive Officer of Lightweight Containers, said: "Australia is a strategic market for our business, and we are enjoying strong sales growth of our kegs across all beverage categories. Our additional warehouse space and new hires means that we can continue to provide our customers with the very best products and service, as well as expand our footprint in the wider Asian market."
